About the artist
George Roffe is a self-taught artist specialising in oils.
Inspired by his time studying Classics and Ancient History at the
University of Warwick, Georges’ work focuses on the form and
themes of historical sculpture. Traversing time and myth in his
subject matter, he captures the work of old masters and their craft in
a fresh and vibrant re-telling – utilising vivid colour schemes to
enhance and contrast the movement and emotions within the
figures he paints.
Since his graduation in 2023, George has been working as a full time
professional artist and broadening his collection of intricate pieces.
He was shortlisted for, and exhibited in, the Zari Art Prize, London 2024. In 2025, his piece ‘Perseus and Andromeda’ was selected for display in Sixteen Gallery Open Call Exhibition, Cheltenham. His other work has sold to private clients and collectors.
George works from his home studio in a small village in the
Cotswolds, Gloucestershire.
